Engine noise

I have a 98 z28 with about 85k and when I start the car up I hear a knocking noise in the engine. I was wondering what it could be.

Piston slap or hydraulic lifters not pressureised yet.. no biggie.

Piston slap is normal w/ our cars.

No, don't worry about it. When I change my oil I do 2 qts of 20/50, and the rest 10/30 or 5/30... It quiets it down a bit.

Nothing to worry about. If it gets really loud, you might have a problem. It goes away once warmed up, right?

how loud is this noise. Is it like to the point where you can just here it over every thing else. or very noticable what i mean by that is does it really stand out from all the other noises.

some LS1s make more noise.. just that way. mine is like yours, its noticeable above the other noises till it warms up
