energy tran mount
just picked up my trans mount. ive seen a lot of feed on this saying theres going to be a lot of vibration? lot of people are saying to remove the spacer? on the directions says: upper preload plate must be used. (it is not a spacer).... do I go ahead and install the preload plate they came with the mount? any info on this would be great. thx

Re: energy tran mount
Try it with the plate, and see if it's a problem. I've had the same Energy Suspension poly trans mount, with plate, under three different setups (M6, TH400, TH400+Gear Vendors) in my 94, and no problems. Yes, there is a small amount of added vibration, but nothing objectional. Seems to vary a lot from car to car. The A4 guys seem to have more problems than those with an M6.
You'll never know until you try it. |
Re: energy tran mount
yea I have an auto tranny. gonna put it on tomm morning. what u think lift the cars front end on ramps ?

Re: energy tran mount
Front wheels on ramps, or jack the front end and put jackstands under the subframes or A-arms. Block rear wheels. Support bottom of trans w/ a floor jack (piece of 2x4 to spread the load), jack slightly to lift up on the mount, remove mount bolt, lower the trans cross-member, unbolt the mount from the trans.
