I just replaced my E.G.R Valve on my 2000 Z-28,and the Check Engine light actually went off for a few hrs.The car was running pretty good,but after it came back on,the engine began to bog and sputter a little from a dead stop at full throttle which it was doing before. The question is was I supposed to re-set the code somehow ,and if so ...how?

 

Just unplug it - the code will set but it will run fine. Then get the code blocked. Problem solved!
