The EGR pipe protrudes down behind the throttle body, and slightly restricts airflow. Basically in the mod you get rid of the restriction, which is so small, I doubt you'll see .5hp off it. Not worth the time IMO.

If that on a stock engine, It something you would do if you have heads and cam, when more intake air is more important.

Benifits include:
1) Repairs stumbling problems at idle from defective EGR.
2) Keeps engine and intake MUCH cleaner since your not recyling burnt exhaust gases.
3) Cleans up engine bay clutter.
4) Makes header changes/intallations easier since there are less components to re-attach/remove.
5) Less components to troublehoot if your having problems.

It's not a HP mod. If you need more help email me or call me, I can set you up with what you need.

I believe he was actually speaking of the mod where you cut off the piece that protrudes into the intake not competely deleting it. But good point, if you're even gonna bother shaving it just take it off altogether, you just need block off plate and need to have someone delete the egr code from the pcm.

I wasn't going to do it until I had the hose off the TB and looked down in there...
If you open the blade and look, it actually appears to be a significant blockage. Image trying to run hard with something comparable restricting your windpipe.
One look made my decision to do the mod. It probably didn't do a whole lot, but it couldn't have hurt!
Good luck
Dave
