did some checking today...

was bored today and got to looking at some things on the new car.(99 trans am) pulled one of the spark plugs and the gap was at like .075, isnt this a little much? also checked the fuel pressure and i was at like 60psi, once again isnt it a little high? on my lt1 i had it was like 45psi. any input on this would be great! cause if the plugs need to be replaced ill do it and the wires.oh and the car only has 17,000 on the clock.

I found that when I did my cam and decided to replace the plugs that they were gapped WAY off. I mean it realistic, its not like at the factory they are gonna sit and gap each individual plug?

The fuel pressure is fine.

The plugs have little chunks of platnum welded on them. After 25-35k miles, they seem to vanish. This may explain your large gap. I changed them on a 2000 Z with 45k on it, most of them were gone (4 or 5 plugs had lost them).

I pulled mine on my '01 Z28 after 6,000 miles and they were all gapped wrong. Anywhere between .035 and .070. So they shouldn't have been worn out or missing anything.
