Cut out Q's

I am getting ready to purchase a cutout and have a few questions.

What size do I need for the factory exhaust on a 2002 Z28 is it 2 3/4 like the lt1?
Where is the best place online to get them?
Does anybody offer any that do not need to be welded on? Or would you guys recommend getting the weld on ones

Thanks for any help

First off, us LT1 guys need a 3 inch cutout, as should you. i got mine from jegs.com, but any place will do. What do you mean a weld-in one? I've never seen any that didn't need to be welded in

Thumbs up

3" in what you need. Never heard of other than weld-on cutouts.

I ordered mine from a camaroz28.com sponsor. Prices are pretty much the same where ever you buy, so might as well buy it from a sponsor of this site to keep the site up and running.

Yep 3", you can get a cutout pretty much anywhere for the same price, so get it from the place that is closest to you to save on shipping. QuickTimePerformance sells their electric plate with the cutout, lots of fun I would think. I'm getting one soon as well.

McCord also makes electric plates for cheaper.

I know, he said that LT1s needed a 2 3/4 inch cutout, I simply started my post by pointing out that LT1s need a 3ich cuout, just like he would.

QTEC30 Quick Time Electric Cutout Valve 3" Fits Cutouts $149.99
QTEC30CP Quick Time Electric Cutout and Flowtech Cutout 3" Package $184.99

whats the difference between these, is one just the electric valve and 1 the electric valve and cut out?

Yes.

However, you might want to check McCord, too. Price is lower and they've made improvements for the latest model so the quality is very good.

Depends what you want to do.

If you want to put the cutout to your Y-pipe, then you need two, otherwise only one.
