IMO you should get a lid no matter what ram air you get, or if you get none at all. the lids are all basicaly the same

go here http://www.ls1motorsports.com/ls1cinduction.asp and scroll about 3/4 of the way down, youll see the FTRA, and in the pulldown itll say FTRA only. If you pull it down youll see they offer packages. the LS1 motorsports lid is only 90 bucks if you buy it with the FTRA.

The "BG Ram Air mentioned earlier will only work with the WS6.

A stock SS Hood does not have true ram air.

I have The Suncoast SS Hood that is true ram air. I believe you will see the same gains with the rectangle type that mounts in front of the radiator. The only problem I see with this type is the possiblity of sucking water from the bottom of the car from Heavy rain is small areas of standing water. You would want to be extra cautious in the rain.

The big advantage of the hood is the way it looks. The SS Hood looks much sportier than the stock hood. Click on the hyperlink in my signature and you can see what it looks like on my car. Also here is a hyperlink to Suncoast Creations to see what the ram air looks like.
