coverting my z to ram-air

I want to upgrade my z-28 to ram-air. Besides buying the new hood what do I need? Please list every item. How easy is the install? I'm pretty good with my hands. And I did lots of work on my old car. So I'm not a total idiot, but I'm not a professional either.

click on Tech Articles/ SS hood, and see if you still want the exspense. The SLP Ultra-Z hood with the scoop on the front would ram more air but you are looking at $1200-$1600 for all of it. There is an atricle on FTRA in Tech articles too. Later>>>>>>>>

I don't care about the money and I think the ss hood is so cool. so can anyone give me a list of the parts and all that or no?

So far I need:

1. SS Hood
2. Fast Toys Ram Air Kit

Do I need an air intake lid? Do I need to buy a new filter? Does the scoop in the hood connect into the ftra or no?

s ram air uses the hood and goes around the hood to come back and then go into maf

fast toys comes straight from bottom where the gay rubber anti scratch thing is and packs air into maf right away

i think u can see both at

simply put, the SS ram air sucks rectal chamber. the FTRA works.

oh, if you want the SS ram air, you just need the hood. nothing else is needed

All you need is the hood and a FTRA, i dont think the hood is neccessary if you have the FTRA. Personally, I went with a KN FIPK, it might be a bit costlier but much more effective if you ask me.

The "gay rubber anti scratch thing" is the air damn that directs air into your cooling system ... the air that you are cannablizing with a FTRA.

Get the supersucker. It actually scoops air into the air filter.

no, you dont.

some aftermarket hoods do. but not an actual SS hood. anyplace that sells one that doenst use the stock airbox will usualy state it quite clearly. and if you get one of those, be aware that you cant use it with an aftermarket lid from MTi LS1 motorsports Whisper or any other lid of that style.

the BG ram air system is for a WS-6.

new question. If I just get the ftra system should I buy a new air lid? If so which one?
