clicking noise
 

Hello,

I have 2 issues with my car right now.

1. There is a clicking noise which sounds like it is coming from the front passenger tire. It only happens when the car is moving, when Idle I do not hear it.


2. I was throwing the code P01037 which was low circuit O2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2. I replaced both sensors just in case and now the code is back after 2 weeks.

1. Stone in tread; failing wheel bearing; warped or badly glazed rotor lifting and dropping a brake pad.

2. There are no 5-digit codes (01037), only 4-digit. Typo?

Could it also be I found a bubble in the tire?

Sorry it's P0137.Oxygen O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

called a mechanic I know about the same code coming on again and he said if the o2 sensors were changed then to just clean the throttle body.

That O2 sensor is the AFTER-CAT sensor on the driver side of the exhaust. It is only there for one purpose - to determine if the catalytic converter is working. The code only sets if 1) the sensor voltage stays below 80 millivolts (dead lean condition) for 80 seconds or more; OR 2) sensor voltage stays below 420 millivolts for 10 seconds during Power Enrichment mode (~WOT).

Hard to understand how cleaning the throttle body would affect that sensor. Could be due to a short between the sensor and the O2 sensor heater circuit ground or a chassis ground. Or could be a faulty sensor. If you have contamination of the O2 sensor wires - e.g. oil drip - could cause the code, since it can prevent ambient air from entering the sensor thimble. Could also be an exhaust leak immediately ahead of the sensor.

The way to diagnose which is causing this is to swap the two AFTER-CAT O2 sensors side-to-side. If the problem follows the sensor to the passenger side (P0157) it's a sensor problem or contaminated sensor wiring. If the code stays on the driver side, it's a harness wiring problem or an exhaust leak.

Since you indicate you replace BOTH sensors (you did the two AFTER-CAT sensors, right?), it's not likely it's a sensor problem.

Very unlikely it is due to a true lean condition, because a similar code would show up for the other O2 sensors.

Yes I did both post cat sensors.

Should I swap them like you said?

Not if they are both brand new. It's pointing to a wiring problem.
