Which cat-back for my setup?
Which cat-back for my setup?
I know, I know. Ive seen this same question posted a trillion times, but i think that most guys have the stock setup and just want to get a mod done. This is my setup:
TSP Comp Cam 233-239
Pacesetter Longtubes
Y pipe, and no cats.
I have had several exhaust setups, ranging from straight pipes with cats to having a 30 inch glasspack, which sounded great.
Now i need to have a 3" setup all the way to the tips so i dont bottleneck the exhaust. I started the car today and it is coming out of straight headers, and it sounds god awefull loud, and it needs to be quieted down alot. i think the easiest and best thing to do would be to get a catback already in the 3" and not dick with it too much, pre bent and all that. My question is which brand for a good looking set of tips, good flow, and will quiet the beast down so the boys in blue dont give me too much guff
?
I dont want to spend much more than around $350-$400.
By the way i will have video and pics of the car when everything is done.

Re: Which cat-back for my setup?
Just a suggestion, but I bought my true duals for ~$150. I did the install myself, no labor charges, it was easy. True duals would be the best way to go IMO
But if you wanted to stay with the Y pipe setup, maybe look for a used GMMG? Might be able to find a used one fairly cheap

yeah, might be cheaper to send the y pipe back and then just have em start from scratch. but on the other hand, i think a Z with no tips in the back looks odd, but true duals do kick *** in the way they sound.
