http://images.cardomain.com/installs...971_2_full.jpg

ratio 411 did this with ?? a 98. I've got a 2000z that has the abs plastic with slats over the grill area. Has anyone removes their plastic?

Any ideas. its only stainless gutter mesh but looks pretty cool!

Cool

Hey,
I'm new to the group, but i wanna put in my 2 cents. i ditched the plastic on my 99 SS for a black metal RKSport grille that i think is sweet. (rksport.com) but I don't know if they still sell it. I also stuck a set of fogs behind it...here's a pic in case you're interested.

Yes, you can pull them. I did it on my '01. Some poeple have it easy and the just yank off, other (like me) had to cut the plastic retainers. Once you get it off, there are like 8 hole from the retainers that you can just leave or like in the pic, fill and paint. I cheated, I got the wings west insert. Pull the stock insert and stick this in it's place. It covers the ugly holes, but give you the same sort of look.

Hey, thanks for the kind words.
I just yanked out that abs grille you are talking about then put the mesh behind the nose, but those holes that are left behind are kinda unsightly. I just got "lucky" and had someone hit me in a parking lot so their insurance bought me a new nose. I had the holes filled before they painted. If you were just to go to a body shop and have it done it runs ~$350 from what I hear. It is cheaper to get the Wings West grille that looks similar or one of the other aftermarket grilles, then to do what I did unless you are painting anyway or don't mind the holes. I suppose one could do most of the labor and plastic body filling, getting everything done and all the prep done... then carry just the nose to the paint shop and get a deal that way.

Jesse, is that you? What's up man? How is Texas? Got any recent pics of the Z? Have you done anything else to it?

What up Jack. Yep it's me. Havn't done a whole lot. Got the N20 working, got a couple little goodies, and a y-pipe. That's about it really. Texas is great. Havn't been out racing as much as I would like though.
