Camaro B4C Special Service with 6-speed

Can someone please explain what B4C service means. I purchased a new 2001 Z-28 in may of last year.
I have driven alot of fast cars in my day, but this car has some real kick to it. Not that I approve street racing, but I have not lost to anything. not even a Z-06 What's up is every 01 Z this strong?
Hurst shifter 6speed.
MODS: American thunder Flowmasters/LS-1 lid. Y pipe on it's way. Any response would be great.

B4C = Police package.

Stripped badges, stiffer suspension, higher output alternator, misc. police options.

I guarantee you probably don't have one. However, you may have the 1LE racing package. Look at the RPO option sticker in your driver's door. Look for 1LE.

"New 2001 Z28".....

Unless he works for a law enforcement department(which in this case, he'd know what he has as he ordered it), or a law enforcement department put 100,000 miles on the car in less than a year and he just bought it from an auction, he doesn't have a B4C.

So yes, I can probably 99% guarantee that he doesn't have one unless one or both of the previous criteria were met.

The B4C is a unique car in civilian hands, but all it is is a Z28 with no badges and a bigger alternator. Everything else (suspension, gears, etc...) is identical to a stock Z. They just have a bigger alt. to handle the extra lights, sirens, and communictaion eqt. No extra hp or anything (unless modified by a police force and resold after).

You just may have a factory beast... http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif Or have come across some questinable drivers. http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif

I think GM dropped the B4C package after '99 since it was basically no different from the "civilian" Z28. I would be interested in seeing a digital photo of the SPI label in the door jamb. The one that has all the option codes on it. I could tell you a lot more about it from that.

Thanks for all the responses... I will try to get the door info in a couple days working nights this week.
P.S. Your right about the drivers some people do not know how to race.

The B4C package is still alive and well. You might find out first hand from one of the 200 recently delivered to the FHP. http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif

This is kinda creepy. I was headed to Chicago 3 weeks ago and saw one on the side of the road in Indiana. It looked totally civilian. It didn't have all the antennas or lights and crap on top. I thought it was stalled, but as I passed it, it light up like a Christmas tree. The head and tail lights flashed like crazy. There were lights in the front and back window. It then pulled over a car in front of me. The dang car blew pass me and I was doing 70.

Since this is the last year of the F-Body, I wonder what they'll do in the future...buy Mustangs. If they do that, they might as well keep the Crown Vics.
