cam a tooth off?
it has been mentioned maybe my cam is a tooth off (based on the numbers it's giving).
Now, with .595 lift, wouldn't a tooth off be enough to cause a valve to piston clearance issue? |
Re: cam a tooth off?
Could be off a tooth advanced & open & close sooner. Usually moves the power band up advanced as well, vice-versa retardarded.

Re: cam a tooth off?
This is just my personal opinion so take that for what it's worth. But I don't believe it would run anywhere near as good as it does if you were a tooth off. I would run crappy.
You bought this cam used. Didi you put a degree wheel on it to check the valve event timing? Maybe it was a bad grind anad that's why the guy was selling it? |
