Building up an LS-1

I always look in my Jeg's and Summit magazines, and i was wondering about a few things. First, I know that the LS-1 is totally different than all other small blocks, but what parts are interchangable? Could you use a forged crank, rods, and pistons that were made for a different year 350? or does everything have to be made for an LS-1. Does that mean that Lunati is pretty much the only one that makes crap for our cars? I dont like the idea of spending 4000 on a stoker kit!

Some LS1 & LS6 parts are interchangeable, but generally the parts have to be LS1 specific.

Look at some other places than Summit & Jegs, you'll find more stroker kits I'm sure.
