Unhappy Broken Mirror

The drivers side mirror on my 2000 Camaro is not working. It is a manual mirror. You can move the stem inside the car and it won't do anything. On the outside of the car you can move the mirror with your hand , but it springs back looking toward the inside of the car.

Does anyone know if I have to buy a new mirror or can this be repaired?

I fixed mine. The cable pulled out of the plastic on the back of the mirror. Remove, disassemble, and JB Weld the thing back in place. Mirror is not that bad, but you will need to have the case repainted..........

Why do you have to repaint the case? How do you remove the mirror out of the case?

The mirror housing (black or body color) comes primer. You remove from door, and manipulate the mirror to find the screws that hold the guts in. Get a new mirror and swap guts....other option....
