Nope - drove it hard right from the Lot. Changed the oil at 500 miles and that's it. I don't think that cars now-a-days need to be broken in like they did a while ago.

Cool

I was nice for mine for 100 miles or so, then once I knew that everything was cool, I let things loose a couple times before the "recommended, 500 mile break-in period" was over. I never held it at WOT during that time, but I didn't keep revs below 3000, or keep my speed below 55mph either.

The car now has 9500km (almost 6000 miles), it's had one oil change so far (Mobile 1 of course!) and it still runs as strong and smooth as the day I picked it up. IMO, drive it how you're going to drive it --- if a motor is going to blow up, it's usually going to be within the first few miles anyways, otherwise, it's fine.

Hope that helps you out a little. Enjoy your new car!

LoL, brings back memories of doing donuts in the work parking lot in his new c5 back in 97. The car had just been delivered and had 4 miles on it, 5 years later, still runs like a champ.
