Maybe go to Tirerack.com their site rates tires for ride, noise, traction etc.
Good place to compair what's out there.

My Firestone Firehawk SZ50's are pretty quiet. Most of the time, they don't even make a sound when I turn em over. They also have a "V" tread, so they don't really whine when I'm heading down the highway. The noises that I notice are the rattles that have made themselves known like the passenger seat belt and a few things in/behind the dash.

Yokohama AVS dB and dB2 - designed for a quiet ride; I have them in 275/35/18 on my convertible and they live up to the manufacturer's claims.

fantastic traction in both wet and dry...and i don't notice any road noise...even with the tops off...
