in the 3.8l airlid, there are all of those ridges at the top, can i just grind those off for a lil better flow instead of paying 100 bucks for a whisper lid. is there a way to make a cold air system for pretty cheap........if this sounds totally retarded.........sorry

You might want to put this in the V6 forum for more of a response. I used to own a V6 f-body and its very common for ppl to sand off those fins. Also you should get some of that type of hose that comes out of the back of your clothes dryer. Use the hose hose to go from the air lid to the throttle body by passing the air silencer which slows down and heats up the air. The whisper lids come with such a hose. Then you will have yourself the same thing. Although the whisper lid might be a little bit bigger, I am not sure of it though.

You can always try the Super Intake.

Both FTFORCE.COM amd FAST TOYS have it.

I have that intake on my wife's V6 and it REALLY made a difference.
