A4 shift knob

This has nothing to do with performance, but all you folks out there with A4's who can't stand the ugly-a$$ed shift knobs that come stock, there is an answer. I just received and put on a stainless steel knob engraved with a bowtie on my Z and it looks great! Mallory Billet Aluminum Products (A supporting advertiser) makes these and other really cool products, check them out. No, I am not a company shill, I just think it is a good product.

Don't over tighten the two allen screws on the adapter like it says in the instructions, turn them in just so they clear the knob sliding on to the adapter. It is a simple mechanism, if done correctly there is no chance of it binding. Mine works smooth as silk.

I hated my handle too, so I replaced mine with the Firebird leather T handle a couple years ago. PN 12563172

Momo has a gunmetal pushbutton shift knob. They are about 80 to 90 bucks I believe.

I put a Hurst T-handle shifter knob on my M6 and I swear I can find the gears more easy now. It has a much more ridged feel than the stock leather pool ball.

Thats a cool handle and all, but it doesn't work for an A4, like the posting says.

I have the TA handle too, and love it.

I just want to know if you can cut the shaft, and the button shaft, and lower the whole thing about 1/2 - 1"? Granted you would have to put new notches for the retaining clip, and everything would have to be precisely measured......Anyone done this?
