If yu refer to K&N or other re-usable filters, I'm sure psychocabbage will chime in regarding the filter
, but yes, don't bother with the bellows.
You can pick a similar one up from Home Depot or Lowes for fraction of the cost.

First off, we are talking about a Z28 which means the ram air setup we are talking about is a SSRA style. Second, the hood style ram air has to be sealed to where the air comes in to have a true ram air effect. Third, Ram air all together isn't very functional on cars because of how fast you have to be going to get a ram air effect. Fourth, the SSRA styles get the air filter very dirty which would end up costing you hp. Yes, you can clean your filter if it's a k&n style. IMO it's not worth cleaning the filter so often for the small and arguable hp gain. In one thread somebody mentioned the dirty filter as being proof the ram air is working. A dirty filter just means a lot of dirt and debris is being caught, it doesn't mean you are getting pressurized air. You can do a search if you want more information on ram air.

With the SSRA I noticed a definite horsepower increase. This is best ram air kit on the market. As far as the filter getting dirty, I have a K/N. So about every 2 weeks I clean it. No big deal. Get the SSRA over the SLP. My buddy got rid of his SLP for the SSRA after he saw how much more volume the SSRA flows over the SLP.
In fact of all the ram air kits the SLP is the worst.
