How often do you guys use 6th gear? Obviously it's more for highway use, but do you around town guys use it when you can? I imagine that it puts a bit of stress on the drivetrain. Just wondering if I should stay away from it, or go for it when I can.

 

I only use it on the freeway really.
When I'm over 55mph for any length of time.

 

I only use 6th on the highway as well.... but I only use it if I am going 70 or over.... because I like to keep my RPM's over 1700.. or else the engine does not run as smooth...

 

I generally only use it when I am driving 70 or so. So that is normally only when I am on the highway or interstate.

 

I use 6th at 60mph or higher

 

I usually shift into 6 around 60-65 mph. If I leave it in 5th at that speed, the Loudmouth can get to be a bit much.

I use it on the highway. Before I put my dymanx bullet muffler also known as dynomouth I used to get slight hesitation when I accelerate a litte in 6th gear. Now after the install I don't have that problem nearly as much, so now I am in 6th gear at 55. No use in the city.

 

The 4.10 gears make 6th gear much more useable IMO. I feel that it kind of offsets the loss in MPG due to the gearing.

 

You can use 6 gear a lot driving in the city at low speeds its like you are sitting at idle wasting no gas at all it works for me

 

I use it on the highway and town.
