Well I have a 1994 z28 with a six speed and I am replacing the lt1 with a 6.0 LQ9 out of a 2002 yukon denali with all the wiring and computer. The engine came from a junk yard and the intake is broken (I dont think it would have fit anyway) so I was thinking about putting ls2 intake on it but I dont know if will work with the heads although i would probably get more power out of the ls2 heads right? The last thing is will it bolt up to my t56 or will I halfto change the bell housing?

The only way to really get what you want there is to buy a new engine. Thats way cheaper and smarter than swapping out parts trying to save a few bucks

Sell your LT1 T56 and buy a LS1 unit. |
either the ls6 intake or one of the aftermarket units will be even better. maybe a used FAST 90/90...or even the 78.
i think more than just the belhousing needs to be changed on the transmission. |
Swapping from the truck intake to a car intake will require the accessory drive from an F-body. The truck accessory drive interferes with the car style intake.
The SBC bolt pattern T56 will bolt up to the 6.0L, but you will need to change the input shaft on the transmission. Finally, using the truck PCM and wiring harness requires the use of a drive-by-wire throttle body. |
