2000 Z28 Exhaust Question

Re: 2000 Z28 Exhaust Question
That's like asking 100 people what their favorite color is. Everyone has a favorite brand. Mine is flowmaster and I will not buy anything else. Why, I don't know. I've been using flowmaster since 1997.

Re: 2000 Z28 Exhaust Question
Best bang for the buck is ordering Dynomax 3" pipes fom Summit, Jegs, or your local auto parts store (two pieces - one behind the Y pipe and one over the axle), picking out your own muffler, and using your factory tailpipes. You can get most of the major aftermarket muffers under $200, and most of them are around $100.
You could probably clamp it all together, but I would recommend getting it welded up somewhere. With the money you save over a Corsa, you could probably buy a mig welder and do it yourself.

Re: 2000 Z28 Exhaust Question
if moneys tight the budget fix is just a high flow muffler. most people like the sound of magnaflow. i went with a fairly quiet at idle / normal driving catback edelbrock rpm. slp has a reasonable muffler. other mufflers hooker aero chamber, flowmaster. top end catbacks are borla, corsa, gmmg etc. i remember seeing a weblink with exhaust sounds. cheers
