2000 ws6 not starting
Now, we haven't really explored too many possibilities, but we have a 2000 ws6 trans am thats not starting. The battery is fine, as is the fuel pump and starter. When you turn the ignition, nothing happens. No click, no nothing. I cant remember if you can hear the fuel pump, but we know it is working. I wasnt there when it died but im told that one the way home, all the gauges died. Once it was parked in the garage, we couldnt get it to start again. I was wondering if you guys had any clue what was going on with this thing?
I just went through the same thing with my 1999 z28. I took it to the Chevy dealer in town and they replaced the ignition switch along with two new keys. The bill came to around $350 bucks and the car started fine for about a week and then started doing the same thing all over again. It took three weeks of trying to start the car every day after work before it finally started again, I drove it back to the dealer and let them know I was not real happy with their work and told them they sold me something that I did not need! Two days later they called me to come pickup my car. They replaced the " Integrated body control module " or brain box for the factory alarm and did not charge me for it ,seeing as they screwed up the first time. I have not had any problems since. Well yes , the ignition switch could cause this problem. The ignition key has a resistor in it that has a certain ohms value which when inserted in the switch and turned to the on position, communicates with the intergrated body control module. If the two are in agreement with each other the factory alarm disarms and allows current to the starter and the fuel system as well, thus enabling the car to start.
It will only cut off fuel if the car is not running when the problem occurs. If it detects a problem after the engine is already running, the SECURITY lamp will light and the engine will be able to be restarted.
check the alternator, battery, and cables. Bad connections can cause it not to start, a bad alternator could explain why it died, would have taken down some of the charge on the battery as well if the alternator did go.
I've looked further into this problem and have this additional information:
Main fuse block #9 fuse (gauge) blows sometimes while starting the car, but always blows after the car is started. Has anyone had this problem before? After looking in the owners manual, that fuse goes to the Body Control Module, Brake-Transmission shift interlock, Instrument panel (which I removed - so it's not that) and Daytime running lamp module which I don't have in this WS6 LS1 Trans Am. Prints would help if anyone knows where I could find them.

You do have day time running lights. Your signal lights are on.
I have never heard of a fuse blowing like this. But it likely means that one of those pieces that it is connecting to has gone bad. With out the specs for those, a power supply, voltage/amp meter and maybe an o-scope, you might have problems finding which one it is. Might be easiest to just start replacing the different parts.
