opinions on Volant CAI

Just put a Volant cold air intake on my ls1 and got slower at the track. wtf, i was doing 9.0 @80 now with the volant im 9.1-9.2 @78. was a little humid that day and hotter. Is the volant hurting me. by the way this is on a 99 formula w/stock hood. thanks for any opinions

Re: opinions on Volant CAI

Heat and humidity will both slow your car down.

The Volant intake is the one that puts two cone filters in a shrouded box, right? Did you have the factory upgrade air box lid, or the regular intake? I'm not sure if the upgrade was available on Formulas. Anyway, there's not much room for improvement over the factory upgraded lid.
