13.3? for almost stock?
13.3? for almost stock?
My friend with an LS1 z28 said he ran a 13.3 at the track, well the only thing he has done is an SLP lid and exhaust (dynomax or something) that doesnt sound like a 13.3 to me, at all. Is that really possible?
You don't beleive it? Well, you should.
Some of these cars have actually hit 12.9 BONE STOCK, paper filter and all. Most range from the 13.2-13.5 range stock. So you're buddies times are quite the norm.

The "stock" LS1's that are running real low 13's, or hitting 12.9's are most likely the factory "freaks". My car on the other hand is one of the factory "freaks" that only ran 14.129 @ 101 bone stock
. With the new lid and K&N, I managed to get 14.008 @ 103, but it's still not a 13!!
However, my car has the 2.73's which are not exactly a good 1/4 mile gear, and both times I went to the track, traction wasn't good (while I pulled off a 2.1 60' time, I was spinning through most of 1st gear
), and the temp. & humidity were both high.
13.3 is not hard for most LS1 cars though..........especially with the 6-speed, which comes with 3.42 gears, and a good driver

I have a few mods and ran 13.6 @ 110mph. It was my first time ever, and I don't know how to launch.... Take my times, and mph for what you will... I just know come next spring I'll have better tires, and aiming for the 12's.
its not unheard for ls1's to run that good....i ran a 13.4 stock with my z and in the dead of winter in new jersey an guy ran a 12.8* beleive it or not it was at some other camaro site.... its not that far fetched though
Hey man. I own a 99 Z28 with the 6-speed and im runnin 13.1s on reg tires and 12.80s on them nittos pretty much stock. All i have done is a whisper lid/KN and a flowmaster exhaust. Not to mention my clutch is slippin pretty bad. but its def possible
