Talking '02 SS - First time dyno numbers!

Well, I dyno'd my car today.

Before I get to the numbers, please take the following into consideration. Some of this may not even make a difference, but I feel like listing it just for the record.

- My car had 1,559 miles on it at the time of dyno.
- I brought my car out of storage yesterday and put only maybe 20-25 miles on it since I brought it out, if that.
- It has a half a tank of gas, and it is from last October when I put the car into storage. Added a bottle of 104 a month ago just for kicks.
- I have not personally added performance mods to my car (unless you count DMS springs, Hurst Shifter and a Lou's Short Stick), but the car did come with the SLP Blackwing lid and the SLP center mount exhaust. Lid has Donovan paper filter from factory. This makes the advertised horsepower at 345.

So today, I am happy to report that my car dyno'd 313.5 RW HP @ 5,300 RPM and 331.1 TQ @ 4,100 RPM

It is also important to note that this is rear-wheel horsepower and was done on a Mustang Dynamometer, which makes a difference. To give perspective, there were Z06's there running around 350 RW HP with advertised 405 HP. I dunno if this would make my engine hp around 360 or not. Doesn't matter, I am happy with the 313 RW HP.

After some more miles, I should get more power out of it. Not to mention some mods in the future!

Nice numbers! Zo6's generally dyno between 340-350rwhp, so it sounds like the dyno was right on.

I can't wait to see what you pick up wih the headers. You need to dyno it after installing them. My guess is 340 rwhp.

Cool

I don't know wht I didn't do this before. Frez just did the math for me and at 15% driveline loss due to my car being a 6-speed, I am making approximately 368.24 HP at the crank.

Yeah...LS1s are overrated...and then some!

Yeah but Dan Oldham says no ls1's are over rated and he knows there is no way you can make over 300rwhp..

Stop lying Jay

I KNEW he was gonna be mentioned in this sooner or later.

I guess I got such high numbers because it has a lid and an exhaust. Even though I didn't put them on and they were "factory" mods, I suppose that an SLP lid and exhaust add up to over 68 HP.

Hahaha!
