Ignition Wire separators

Hi everyone!
Just a quick question. Im looking to do a plug and wire job and have the 8.5 mm MSD wires. I wanted it to look pretty nice under there, and was wondering how many of those wire separators I would need to get for the job.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Ignition Wire separators

Will you be routing the wires in the stock configuration - under the manifolds (very tight in the bracket on the front of the engine, and through the PS pump support), or will you using an "over the valve cover" setup with headers, of some other aftermarket approach?

Re: Ignition Wire separators

I will probably going in the stock configuration, as I still have the manifolds.
(hope to get headers maybe next year )

Re: Ignition Wire separators

The wires will be "trapped" until they turn the corners to the sides of the engine. At that point, a 4-wire separator, and two 2-wire separators should be adequate for each side. That assumes you are not using the stock metal bracket/cover on the drivers side that holds the wire for #7 againast the head. If the wires have been changed previsouly, that cover often gets discarded, because it is difficult (but not impossible) to reinstall.

On my engine (bought the car new) the wire for #7 was tucked under the exhaust manifold with the cover, and did not wrap around the manifold as shown in the cut, above, from the factory manual.

Just remember... lay in an adequate supply of band-aids and cold brew!
