Back when I had 3.42's for gears, I managed to hit 6300 RPM in 5th. By the gear calculator I was doing 196. I'm not sure if it really was that fast, but I am confident it was well over 180. I have a HUD I will be installing this year that will show the speeds after my speedo is pegged to give me an accurate speed for next time.

BTW, it was in my Z in my sig.

A buddy of mine back home told me that a stock LT1 that wasn't governed would do 154. Not sure if its true or not.

Shoot, I remember for a while where I would hit 150 MPH on a weekly basis on a lonely stretch of interstate late at night. I haven't gone that fast in a while though. I really liked the high speed stuff but haven't done much since I've moved to NJ.

Only 115. I live in a pretty urban area, so even that speed is totally ridiculous.

My car came with a 115MPH speed, so it still looked pretty impressive (to have the speedo pinned)

Only got to about 150mph, then the driveshaft came out. A year later I'm still fixing damage from that one.

I wish i could do those speeds. Everywhere i go theres cops, an i too live in a pretty urban area. A buddy of mine was caught doing 186kmh in a 100kph zone, he lost his liecence for a year an had to pay upwards of a grand, so i havent been doing to many top speed runs

Sometimes you have to pay to play. From experience, if anyone is planning on doing any high speed runs, I reccomend doing it on a dyno that has that option, or even a high speed track. Either of these will keep you legal. If you are more for a little risky driving, you need to find somewhere that is safe. Meaning, no cops, no traffic, safe straight long roads, no forest areas (for deer reasons). Just some advice.

Yeah hitting a deer at 150mph+ would sure do some damage.
