What tools are needed for working these cars?

What tools are needed for working these cars?
I know its a simple question. All my tools are metric. Will I need to invest in a set of standard sockets and wrenches for this, my first american car? I do love shopping for tools, but only want to buy them if i have too.

Yes, you will need some standard tools. Most of the standard stuff is on the engine. Just about anything that threads into the block is standard.

My .02%u00A2 you can never have enough tools if you do you you need to get a bigger tool box. Lol !!
best investment a good scanner !! and the camaroZ28 app and you will have all the power in your in your hands....book marking shoebox's tech page would also be a good tool to have in your tool box

Depends on how serious you are on working on it(or how deep you want to go into the engine or transmission). I "could" do my manual trans work, but I choose not to do it. I simply wanted a Pro who does it day in and out to do it.
Good brand hand tools are must. Majority of what I have is Craftsman.
Good car specific tools to have are:

- Impact socket set
- Standard/Metric wrench set(up to 1.25" and 24mm)
- Standard/Metric flare nut wrench set
- Standard/Metric socket/ratchet sets(1/2, 3/8, 1/4)
- Standard/Metric Gearwrench set(makes life much easier)
- Adjustable wrench set
- Standard/Metric hex wrench set
- Various socket extensions
- Socket universal joint sets
- Various socket size adapters
- Star socket set
- Various screwdrivers phillips/straight/star
- Micrometer and caliper set
- Dial indicator gauge
- Feeler gauge
- Mechanics stethoscope
- Pry bar set
- Punch/chisel set
- BFH(big ****ing hammer)
- Soft face and dead blow hammers
Good car specific tools to have are:
- Power steering pulley puller
- Cooling system pressure tester
- Harmonic balancer puller(or a good pulley puller set)
- Seal installer set
- Lisle 24610 spill free funnel(simply awesome)
- Compression tester
- Fuel pressure gauge
- High quality jack
- Transmission jack
- 2x4 and nails to make custom jack stands.
