new exhaust system

The other day my left exhaust tip rotted off and I am pretty sure the whole system is bad since the right pipe hangs low and hits the curb when I pull out of the driveway or parking lot.

I haven't called yet because I can't go until the weekend but has anyone been to Meineke or Midas. Can you bring them an exhaust system and they'll put it on or do you have to buy from them?

I was looking at an SLP loudmouth II 4" tips on ebay since it is cheap and sounds nice on youtube.

Re: new exhaust system

The photos of the Loudmouth indicate it is assembled with u-bolts and band clamps. Sounds like your old system will basically fall off, even if it was welded. Worst would be a mild attack with a hacksaw or a Sawzall.

There are install instruction on the tab on the JEG's listing for the Loudmouth /Loudmouth 2:

SLP 31043A SLP Loud-Mouth II Exhaust Systems - Free Shipping on All Orders @ JEGS

Re: new exhaust system

Thanks. I've never done it before. I am defintely not a mechanic but I like learning. I will get under the car and see if the old one will come out and then I will order the SLP and see if I can install it.

Re: new exhaust system

Give it a try... it can get pretty rewarding, not to mention a money-saver.

To me nothing feels better than doing something on my car.
