transmission problems

My 1994 z28 camaro bought it with a tranny problem was told it was the silinoid but replaced that and did a rebuild. When I bought it I wouldn't shift out of first. After the rebuild it worked kinda ok it went through the gears it was just sluggish. A day after the rebuild it went back to not shifting out of first what could this problem be

Re: transmission problems

A good idea to scan the PCM for codes. The 4L60E's electronically controlled shifting is monitored by the PCM, and will set codes if there are faults like the solenoids. Those codes do not turn on the SES light, so you have no way to know if they are there unless you scan it.

One of the best ways to scan would be to download Scan9495 (free) and get a Red Devil River or an ALDLCable connector cable.
