Time for name that sound...

When I'm driving my 98Z if I apply the brake and then give the car gas, I hear a pop towards the back of the car. It happens when I go from a stop, it's like some pressure is built up and released when I go. The funny thing is I can apply the brakes, then release them and coast, then give it some gas, I hear the pop from the rear. I thought it was my torque arm and I changed the bushing, but that didn't do the trick.

Any ideas what I should be checking for?

Somewhere in-between... I guess more of a clunk. It happens when I give it gas, occasionally on a shift. (I have an A4). But it almost always happens when I'm coasting, hit the brake, then give it some gas.

Loose bolts to driveshaft caps and your pinion yoke. Possibly a bad cardan joint, excessive play in the rearend. Just going over what hasn't been covered.
