Repair for 93 console part 2
Now to reinforce all the weak areas I used some material from those supermarket bags, and used the superglue like you would for fiberglass and epoxy resin. It works.
So, let it dry off, sand to shape with 80 grit and then 120 grit, paint and re-assemble
Paint. Still pretty rough, but I had got impatient with all the fitting and sanding all day.
And done
I used the parts of the handle of that supermarket bag to make the straps. You never see them anyway...
There are some other ways to do this, but this is a quick and easy way and should avoid a repeat of the breakage.
Hope this may help some of you who have a busted hinge and some time to do a fix. Oh, last thing - you DO NOT need to remove the console to do this fix.
