so when i bought my car it had already had an aftermarket cd player...i hate it. i want the stock one. how do i know if my car had the boes sound system in it...and if it didnt, whould the cd player still work in it with out the amps? i heard it wouldnt but not sure. did they make a stock cd player w/o the boes system?

 

It will say in your RPO codes. Also the bose system was very unique, it was a ten speaker system. 4 tweeters, 4 regular speakers and 2 midbass subs in the sail panels. Yes they did make a cd player without Bose. The stealership might still carry them.

My advice is to get an aftermarket deck you do like, they're infinetly superior to the crap that got put in these cars stock.

 

The 1994 Z28 Bose system had 3 speakers, not 10.. one in each of the doors, one in the rear, and none in the sail panels..

 

Yup, and each speaker had its own little 1 channel amplifier attached to the back of it. The sub had its amp built in as well.

 

My '94 TA 25th anniversary might have been different. It had a regular speaker and a tweeter in both front doors, a mid bass on both sides in the sail panels and another set of tweeters/speakers in the hatch totalling 10 units. The amp in back said Bose.
