steering wheel problem?

Hi everyone.

Recently my car has made a weird noise. This only happens when the car is cold, once it warms up it goes away.

When I start the car and I turn the wheel (more so when I turn right) I can hear a clicking noise.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Thanks

Re: steering wheel problem?

I had a bird 10 years ago and I had some work done(can't remember what)and the plastic thing that surrounds the steering shaft was rubbing against something under the hood.Have someone turn your steering wheel with the engine on and see if the plastic thing is hitting something under the hood.I had the plastic cover removed and it was fine.Sorry I don't know the correct names of the parts.Hope this helps.

Are you referring to the "boot, steering gear"?

Re: steering wheel problem?

Assuming you are asking about a vehicle similar to the 95 shown in Shoebox's diagram, part #9 is the clamp that holds part #6 on.
