Sorry I didn't know where to post this, but I experianced smoke from the steering column today. It was just a small stream of smoke and it didn't last long.

I still have turn signals and a horn and high and low beams and it still starts and runs....

Anyone have a clue what could be happening?

Yeah, you got a wire that is shorting/grounding out (probably chafed insulation). I'd be trying to find it, if I were you.

Probably not a bad idea to disconnect your battery until you can find it. At least then there won't be power running through the lines putting you at risk of finding your car in a pile of ashes and melted plastic when you wake up in the morning.

I would try everything and see if it works, sniff around......it shouldn'e be hard to find.

My headlight switch burned up in my truck a few weeks ago.....and I lost all my lights on my enclosed trailer and truck in the middle of the night

I took it out and rigged it up to get home.....lucky it didn't burn down. Then I fixed it and traded the truck
