severe overheating

Ok guys, here's the breakdown: last month I had an overheating problem and I replaced the rad. cap, coolant temp. sensor and temp. sensor. Problem was solved. I just got the car back from tranny shop (had it rebuilt) and now my cooling problem is back. I completely drained the rad. Drained the overflow tank and refilled. Replaced the rad. cap again, still overheating. Replaced the coolant temp sensor, still overheating. Replaced temp. sensor, still overheating. I tested the thermostat, it's working good. Don't know where the problem is.
When I refilled the coolant, I didn't see any come out of the bleeder valve on the tee. The one at the water pump has coolant coming out when it's full. Should there be coolant coming out of both bleeder valves or just the one? Also, when I started the car, it got hot pretty quick. Then the overflow tank overflowed. What can be causing this? I'm at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, it's a 94 Z, Auto trans.

Re: severe overheating

Sounds like you still have air in the system. Shoebox has a good procedure:

Re: severe overheating

I followed Shoebox's procedure. I'm wondering if there is some sort of blockage in one of the hoses. I just let it cool down, filled back up to the lower part of the rad. neck and started it. Temp went up and overflow tank filled again. When I open the bleeder valves, I only get steam.
