Rattleing noise

There is a rattleing noise coming for the rear passenger side of the car. Ive looked at the shock and what not back there and nothing really seems loose at all. I thought it was the hatch at one point but it only rattles when you hit a hard enough bump and its more of a clunk sound. This is a real light rattle over light bumps. Anyone else ever have this go on or have something else in mind I can look for other than the shocks and such? Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you check the spare tire and it's hold-down? I had mine out once and when I replaced it, I thought I had it tight but it shifted a little and sometimes made noise. I was able to shake the tire and get another 1 1/2 turns on the tie-down. now it's quiet!

I have had rattles that turned out to be weather stripping rubbing against the door/hatch. They sounded mechanical. Wipe some silicone grease on the weather stripping to see if it goes away.

How about a chirp in the steering wheel? lol...very faint but it's sorta annoying if you drive long periods. Btw, I have the same problem with the rear/pass hatch area. I did have the jack out and was using it to help someone with their car. I readjusted it today and hopefully that will fix my problems. Would the rubber stopping mounts that are attached to the top hatch be a contributor to any rattles?

Yes. Same with the stops for the hood. Rubber against metal can sound like a rattle when there is movement between them. A little silicone grease (not spray) works wonders.

Well, I guess in my case they just seem worn/brittle. Silicone grease may help but it might just be easier to replace them all together with new ones. If those are in fact the problem. I'm still leaning towards the jack but I may pick up some news ones if they're cheap enough.
