Need Some Info On Gears and Tires
 

Hi, I'm trying to answer a question for someone, which gears came on the Z28 and SS specifically ?

I know the Z28 was available with the 2.73, the 3.23(for autos) and 3.42(for M6's), what about the SS?

Also, which tire sizes did both cars run with stock? And who made them?

All F-Bodys after 93 use the same axle ratios you noted.... Z28, Formula, TA, Firehawk, SS.

The Z-rated tires on the Z28 were 245/50-16 (25.65" diameter). The SS tires (coupe only) were 275/40-17 (25.65" diameter). The early years used Goodyear GS-C's for the 16" Z-rated. I think the later years were Goodyear F1's.... but someone with an LS1 needs to confirm that. Not sure about the 17" tire manufacturer.

My A4 came with 2.73 :(, I am not %100 sure but I think alot of autos (98-00) were 2.73

My 96 Z28 A4 came with 2.73.
