need help getting ASR working again

Ok, here's my deal. I did a search on this problem and couldn't find what I was looking for. I found a lot about removing ASR, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I want everything to work properly on my car as possible. My ASR won't work and I'd like to get it working again.

I bought my car from a friend who bought it wrecked. It wasn't hurt bad but the rearend housing had the driver side axle tube bent so he replaced the rearend with a 3 channel rearend from an LT1 car. Since then I have put 4 channel axles in it, put the backing plates with the wheel sensors in and got the wiring harness and hooked it all up, still not ASR. The light on the dash dosen't come on at all.

Is there anything I'm missing in the ASR system? Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Are LS1 cars supposed to have the big, ugly ASR box under the hood?

I just went out and messed with some. I looked in the fuse box and I'm assuming the fuse marked STG WHL CNTRL is the fuse to the ASR? There were two spots marked that. One was an empty hole and the other had a place for a fuse. I put a fuse in it and nothing, it didn't blow the fuse I just still don't have a light. When you turn on the ignition the ASR light comes on and goes right back off.

The two rear wheel sensors sat out in the weather for a while on the old rearend. Could they have gotten water in them and ruined them causing the ASR not to work?

You need to go get the codes checked by a ASR/ABS scanner. The cheaper readers only read engine codes. You should be able to find a shop that will do this real quick for like $25.
