My car's exhaust is vibrating...
Has anyone ever had their car's exhaust vibrating off of the rear heat shield on an LT1 car? (At least that is what I think it is vibrating on, either the heat shield or somehow the inlet and outlet piping for the muffler might be vibrating, not 100 % sure) Has anybody else had this issue and how did you fix it? Between 2,000 and 3,000 RPMs my car sounds like a damn "Wookie" off of Star Wars.

What kind of exhaust do you have?
You should get down there and see if it's something simple like bending the heat shield or putting it back on the hangers.

Re: My car's exhaust is vibrating...
get it up on a hoist and have a friend rev it up while in park or neutral w/parking brake on...
im pretty sure im having the same viberation. (no sound tho, just vibes in the car) anywhere from 60-70 mph.

Re: My car's exhaust is vibrating...
sure it's not pieces of a cracked catalytic converter rattling around in the pipes someplace??
had that on an old family car once
popped the pipe off, dumped the pieces out...fixed
b.lee
that vibration ...with no sound...makes me think you have a driveshaft balance issue. if it's the stock steel shaft they are VERY notorious for this at speeds of 70-80mph (depending on rear gears).
get an aluminum LS1 shaft and your problems will disolve

Re: My car's exhaust is vibrating...
not to take over, but my car does the same viberation when parked or in neutral when revving it up.
or on the road at the top of every gear.
i was told torque converter bolts?
does that sound right? i thought the torque converter didnt have bolts?
edit: I do have the ls1 alum d-shaft
just did u-joints in it.
