Recreating the look of a steel body with carbon fiber
I've been putting money away since 2006 to build an over-kill first-gen Camaro. I've got the funds stored up now, and there's enough to do about anything. I'll put pics up as it starts to come together. I joined this board because good ideas seem to come from groups - and I'm wide open to ideas.
I've got a company that'll make body parts from carbon-fiber. Which would be killer for performance, but I don't want to loose the look of steel body panels.
I'm considering plating the carbon-fiber with black-chrome. My guess is that that would preserve the impression of a steel body - but it might just look like chrome painted fiber glass.
Any other way the steel-panel look could be maintained without using steel?
TIA
