LT1 wiring into dash of 3.4L camaro
I am swapping a 97 lt1 into a 93 camaro with a 3.4L and i need to know if all of the wiring will hook up and work correcty. like the main wiring harness, will the one in on the lt1 work into the 93 dash?
same question
Black..... I'm getting ready to do the same swap, with same questions. I've been told the "engine harness and the dash harness" have to be changed. I hope to get time this weekend to get started. If I figure anything out, I'll let you know
I just rewired the interior of a 94 3.4l camaro and may at some point put an lt1 in the car. The interior harness should be the same, the only issue I see is the fact that they use a different speedometer/ guage assembly.
hold-up... just noticed you said a '97 lt1. There may be some issues. Best thing to do is get the wiring diagrams in the repair manuals (like Haynes) and it has the engine ecm wiring. That should tell you what is required for the 97 lt1. Also, its gonna be obdII and your 93 is gonna be obd1 so you couldn't run diagnostics through the aldl easily. You may be able to run an obdI ecm on that engine. You may want to ask the guys in the v8/lt1 part of the site. If you ran an obdI ecm most of the wiring should line up.

With a '97 harness you are gonna have more of a challenge. I would say you are gonna have to change a bit more stuff - just because of '97+ being OBDII and any other differences that come with the interiors (different placement of dash lights, etc).
If I were you, I would get ahold of these guys. They specialize in LS1 retrofits, but they do LT1 work as well.
Good luck. And don't sweat it. It's all small stuff.
