ls2,ls7 engine swap
 

anyone heard or have any info regarding the swapping of a ls2 or a ls7 into a fourth gen. F-body??? I have heard/ seen ls1 swaps... but never an ls2, just looking under the bay of agto, it doesnt look that big.

dimensionally the ls2 is the same size. i think the block is even the same. so it would fit without much hassle at all.

as for the LS7...i think you'd have issues with the dry sump oiling system.

and honestly...for the price/hassle you could just get a stroked ls1/2 engine. a built 396 or 408 would make more power cheaper than the LS7 makes. or you could step up to the big 427 that a few vendors are making.

THe Warhawk block has two (I believe) engine mounting points. Adaptable from 1958 and up SBC.

The punched and stroked ls2 makes the same displacement.

The throttle bodies on the 2 and 7 are the same, also.

Prices for the LS7 complete engine are around $13k...the LS2 plus 3k more would be a deal....IMO...

You'll be front end upgrades...as far as springs/shocks.

All Gen-III LSx series engines and 4.8 / 5.3 / 6.0L truck engines are the same "size" block externally. Their parts are mostly interchangable like old Gen I SBC parts were interchangable.

Shy of needing some major computer mods, and a matching intake and exhaust for the LS7, it would fit in a 4th-gen as easily as the factory LS1. It's not like trying to stuff a big-block under the hood;). Definitely not easy on the wallet though!?!?!?:(
