Hello everyone, I'm new.

Hi to everyone. I'm new to this place, so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum. I'm happy I found this place so I'll finally be able to have some help with my car. Heres a little information about me: I'm 18 years old, I live in Louisville, Kentucky and I'm currently attending Berea College, but will be attending UofL next fall. When I turned 16, I was looking around for an old muscle car and found a 77' z28 camaro for $3,500. I worked like crazy to buy it and I couldn't be happier with it. I have lots of things I want to do with it, so I'll probably be posting on here a lot.

Here are some pictures of it: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/nograv...el%3as,1%3af,0

Let me know what you think.

Re: Hello everyone, I'm new.

Welcome aboard!

That's a sweet looking '77. I had an '81 Z28 when I was 17 - 18.....sold it (stupidly) for a pick-up truck, then was dying for my Camaro back right away. My advice? You've got a nice F-body.....looks clean.....keep it that way, and KEEP it. Only sell it if you're upgrading to another muscle-car.....don't downgrade!!

Very nice looking Camaro. Back in my high school days I had a 78 T/A, still wish I had it.

Re: Hello everyone, I'm new.

Thanks. I wont be selling it unless I find an older one, don't worry. I guess I should give you some info about it: Its got a 5.7 liter high outpuut 350, holly 600 4-barrel carb, hooker headers, straight pipes, hurst dual-gate shifter, and a whole bunch of other suff I don't understand yet. I bought it from a guy who was selling it so he could get money for his corvette. This is my first car and so far, I have no complaints. Of course there are problems with it:

Front seats out of a firebird, warped dash pad, leaky rear windshield, cracked rear upholstry, droopy headliner, non functioning rpm gauge, leaky transmission, headers that scrape the ground on the littlest of road variances, and a pair of fiberglass fenders that are cheap and don't match up quite right. These things are small though considering the car was bought new, stolen, stripped, recovered, sold at an auction, partially put back together, and then sold to me.

Hee, hee! Sounds a little like my first '81! It was a pieced-together mess when I got it. It was in great shape when I was done with it though.

.....lucky b@$t@rd that I sold it too!

Welcome man, there's a few second gen fans here. Sounds like a nice car, the problems you got are pretty easy to fix.
Except for the headers.. mine hit the ground all the time too

Re: Hello everyone, I'm new.

Welcome to the board too, im a pretty avid 2nd gen guy, just couldn't afford a 70 1/2 z28 currently (wanna do a full restore to it)...anyway.

It's a nice looking car, everycar has its defects when you buy used its a given. My 97 has a 3" crack on the drivers side fender from some crazy **** who slammed their door into it.

Not trying to advertise another board, but you might want to checkout www.nastyz28.com since thats the official site of the Second Generation Camaro Owners Group and their are just a ton of helpful people there. Might want to join http://forum.fbody.us/index.php? as well since your a midwest guy.

WELCOME

Im new here too, but i wanted to welcome you here and tell you what a sweet z that is.

keep up the work on it, well be here to help you whenever we can, all the guys here are great and are VERY VERY helpful.

i just got my first f-body last month, actually out of like 80 cars in my life it`s only the 4th chevy.
yep i was a huge ford fan. especially the mustang, that was my favorite but i gotta say since i got my camaro i didnt know what i was missing, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

since then i bought a 1996 v6 firebird for my girlfriend and i just applyed for a loan to buy a 2002 slp ss, it`s only got 6,500 miles on it and they say it has every slp option.

well keep comming, and for sure keep that camaro.

once again welcome
