heater blend door stuck
Changing the heater core. I removed the cover it came off hard I think it was caught on the blend door linkage to diaphram. Now I can't move the blend door or linkage. It is stuck. No vents or defrost. Any help would be appreciated. Haven't even changed the heater core yet I need to fix this first.

Re: heater blend door stuck
The "blend" door between heated air and AC air is controlled by a cable. Is that the one you are asking about?
All the other doors, that direct air to the vents, defrost, floor are vacuum operated. If its one of those, which one in the diagram below (from Shoebox):

Re: heater blend door stuck
The one right above the blower motor. I was able to pull the blower and get it unstuck. Thank you for the diagrahm. Ended up not changing the heater core just inspecting it. It's not leaking and blows good heat.

Re: heater blend door stuck
Is it common for the door to get stuck?
I am tracking down heating issues, either my heather core, or the door. I haven't put too much effort into it since I just got the car and in the process of moving.

Re: heater blend door stuck
In the past 11 years, I've seen very few posts asking about the door actually being stuck. If the door does not move when you turn the termperature ****, its usually the cable, but even that is not a common problem.

Re: heater blend door stuck
I have same issue with 2006 pontiac g6. Can someone please email or post how to remove blower motor to check if (blend door) temperature door is working properly?
We believe the door is jammed, just not sure how to access. We have removed glove box and panel below the blower motor. Passenger side actuator is removed as well.

Thanks in advance!
