Uh, the STOCK gears for the Z were 2.73- CAFE and all that, but the 3.23 were optional on autos, and used on all the B4C (police) Camaros- as were the steering coolers- I have a buddy that bought a wrecked 2002 Z from a salvage yard with the steering cooler, leather, totally loaded-
They could be optioned out almost any way you wanted, traction control- 4 channel ABS versus the stock 3-channel, leather, on and on- it wasn't just the SS' that were optioned-
