What is the stock rear end gear ratio on a 94 A4 Z28?

 

probably 2.73

 

You either have 2.73's or 3.23's.

You can either look in the glove box for the rpo codes, or look at your gear selecter. If you have a "2" as your first gear, you have 2.73's, and if you have a "1" as a first gear, then you have 3.23's.

 

I guess that makes them 2.73s then. Thanks guys, I'm getting 3.73s next week. They should really give me a kick in the pants!

My rpo's tell me I have 2.73 but I have a 1 on my gear selector. Or is that only on the pre ls1 cars?

 

I'm pretty sure it's the same throughout all 4th gen years. GU2 is the RPO for 2.73's, and I think GU4 is for 3.23's.

 

My rpo codes posted on my door list a GU2 but on my gear selector I have a 1,2,D,OD, etc. So I don't think the gear selector theory holds water.

 

GU5 is the RPO for 3.23's. All A4 LS1's can select first gear.
