Floor replacement...

Hi,

I just got myself a beautiful black Z28 91', and I'm starting the restoration job on it. You may think that my car is in a bad state, but that's not the case... Actually, the body is in pretty good condition (I'll soon post a pic), but since some guy who owned it before me had the brilliant idea to drove this car in the winter... Well, there it is, a big nasty rust hole in the floor... I'm thinking about a full replacement of this one, and would like to know what's the average price for such a thing?

I know I could go with a reparation of the hole, but since the rest of the floor isn't in a really good state and the hole itself is a bit too big, I would like to give my Camaro floor a new life... I saw a floor on Classic Industrie for about 200 each floor panel, and I just want to know about the installation.

She just went trough a full replacement of the braking system, and I'm thinking about reparing the body before going any further.

Thanks!

From what I hear it is a total pain in the ass to do something like that. I think that is the sole reason why people say to look for a car without rust.

Well, since the floor is in 2 distinct part, you dont have to remove the transmission shaft and such, which I tought was required at first... Well, still looking for a price, since it can be done! I know it must be a tough job to do, but some people are specialised in this!

Cut out floor, weld in new floor. Sand smooth, and repaint. Relatively simple
